Can I use a floatation tank if I am claustrophobic?

This is a very common and understandable concern, but don’t worry! Our i-sopod float tanks are much bigger than you might think, allowing you to starfish on the water without touching the sides. You are in complete control of your experience and are welcome to float with the light on and leave the lid open as you wish.

How warm is the floatation tank?

Both the water and air inside the float tank are kept at a comfortable 35°C (matched with skin temperature). This is the optimum temperature to ensure minimal sensory input during the float, which gives rise to the benefits and a deeply relaxing state.

Can I use floatation tanks whilst pregnant?

Yes, absolutely! Floatation can be a game-changer during pregnancy, offering relaxation, relief from physical pain and discomfort as well as the chance to deeply connect with your baby. Floatation is widely considered safe during pregnancy. However, it’s advisable to consult your midwife or GP first if you are unsure, especially during the first trimester.

Do I shower before getting in the float tank?

Yes, we kindly ask that you make use of the shower facilities before and after using the float tank, ensuring that all makeup and oils are removed.

How clean is the water in the float tank?

The water in our i-sopod float tank is extremely hygienic. Between every use, the water is filtered using photocatalytic oxidisation, a powerful sterilising technology far superior to chlorine, which is typically used in swimming pools. The high concentration of Epsom salt and the carefully controlled use of hydrogen peroxide as a disinfectant further ensures the tank is a clean and safe environment for you to float in.

Can I use the floatation tank whilst menstruating?

Yes, you’re welcome to float whilst menstruating, but please use the same menstrual products you would usually use whilst swimming (e.g. tampon or menstrual cup).

What if I get salt water in my eyes while floating?

Accepted Answer

In the unlikely event that you spill salt water in your eyes, there is a spray bottle of fresh water inside the tank.

How old do I have to be to use the floatation tank?

Accepted Answer

You must be over 16 to float and accompanied by an adult if under 18.

Can I float after getting a new tattoo?

Accepted Answer

Please wait until your tattoo is fully healed before floating - this is usually around 3-4 weeks. You can test this by putting alcohol-based hand sanitiser on your tattoo. If it stings, it’s not yet fully healed!

How often should I use floatation tank therapy?

It’s completely up to you how often you’d like to float. However, we recommend around once per month. The benefits compound the more often you float, and it usually takes 2 or 3 sessions to really settle into the experience and get the most out of it. Our Reset package is a great place to start.
