What is Floating?
Floatation therapy is a powerful way to relax both body and mind by effortlessly floating in a shallow pool of warm water saturated with Epsom salt.
The high salt concentration allows you to become completely buoyant, creating a unique sensation of weightlessness. This relieves pressure from joints and muscles while helping the nervous system shift into a blissful and meditative state of deep rest.
It’s a rare opportunity to disconnect from the outside world — often busy and overwhelming — and reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way.

Regular floating has been shown to support a range of mental and physical health benefits, including: deep relaxation, stress reduction, reduced anxiety, improved sleep, enhanced muscle recovery, and support with mental clarity.
By eliminating sensory input and entering a state of stillness, the body and mind are given the space they need to truly rest and reset.
Your experience takes place in our state-of-the-art i-sopod floatation tank, housed in a private, purpose-built wellness cabin. Sessions typically last for 60 minutes, beginning and ending with gentle music, and you’ll have full use of a private shower, bathroom, and all provided amenities.
While floating is traditionally done in complete darkness and silence for maximum benefit, you’re always in control — you’re welcome to leave the light on or the lid open to suit your comfort.
What are the benefits?

Reduced Stress and Anxiety
Research shows that even a single float session can lead to noticeable drops in stress and state anxiety, often lasting into the next day.
The quiet, weightless environment gives your nervous system a chance to downshift, leaving you feeling calmer, clearer-headed and more at ease.

Mental Clarity
Floatation naturally sharpens focus and awareness, helping the mind engage more clearly.

Muscle Recovery
Floating after exercise can help muscles relax, reduce perceived soreness, and promote overall recovery. The uniquely weightless environment takes pressure off muscles and joints, while the magnesium-rich water may support muscle function.
Many people find floatation to be a highly effective tool as part of their training and recovery cycle.

A Break from Sensory Overload
Modern life can sometimes feel overwhelming with screens, responsibilities and distractions. A session in our float tank provides a calm, distraction-free space where your mind can restore balance and fully rest — something few other environments allow.

Mood Lift
Research has shown that floatation can produce a powerful emotional reset, even after a single 60-minute session — easing anxious thoughts, lifting mood, and boosting feelings of calm and general wellbeing.

Pregnancy Support
Floating can offer pregnant women a much-needed break from pressure on the joints, spine, and muscles. The buoyancy from the Epsom salt relieves weight from the body, helping reduce discomfort and allowing for deeper relaxation, as well as an opportunity to deeply connect with your baby in a comfortable, safe environment.
(If you are in your first trimester, it’s advisable to consult a healthcare professional before booking.)
Important note
Floatation therapy has been studied since the first tanks were built in the 1950s, and the research base has steadily grown over the decades. The studies so far have shown a range of well-supported benefits, as seen above.

However, it’s important to acknowledge that while many people report experiencing other positive effects — such as enhanced creativity, improved sleep, and spiritual insights — not all of these have yet been consistently demonstrated in scientific research. These experiences are valuable and meaningful to the individuals who have them, but they remain anecdotal rather than proven outcomes.
It is also important to note that floatation is not a medical treatment and we will not falsely claim that it can ‘cure’ any conditions, but rather offer it as a supportive wellbeing tool.

At Revive Float, we believe in celebrating both the solid, evidence-backed benefits and the unique, personal experiences people have in the tank. Our aim is to be transparent about what the science supports today, while remaining open to new research and the evolving understanding of how floatation tank therapy can impact our health and wellbeing.
