Your Float Experience

A step-by-step guide to your first float at Revive Float.

Never floated before? You're in the right place!

Trying something new can sometimes feel a bit daunting, especially when you're not quite sure what to expect.

At Revive Float, we've designed the whole experience to be as simple, comfortable and relaxing as possible. From the moment you arrive, our private cabin and floatation facilities are entirely yours to enjoy.

Here's exactly what to expect from your visit, from start to finish.

1. Booking your session 📆

Booking your float is simple. Choose your preferred session length (45, 60 or 90 minutes) and select a time that suits you through our online booking system.

Once booked, you'll receive a confirmation email with directions, arrival information and everything you need to know before your visit.

What do I need to bring?

Absolutely nothing!

We provide everything you need, including towels, earplugs, toiletries and refreshments.

You're welcome to bring swimwear if you'd prefer to float wearing it, although most people choose to float naked. Sliders and a good book are also optional extras.

2. Arriving Here 🌱

When you arrive, I'll meet you and show you up to our private log cabin, overlooking the beautiful Oughtibridge valley.

I'll give you a quick tour of the facilities, explain how the float tank works and talk you through everything you need to know.

There's plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and I'll make sure you're feeling comfortable before leaving you to enjoy your session.

Once you're settled in, the cabin is yours to enjoy in complete privacy.

There are no other customers sharing the facilities, and you can enjoy the experience entirely at your own pace.

3. Preparing for your float 🚿

Before entering the tank, you'll take a quick shower to rinse away any products on your skin or hair.

We recommend removing jewellery and contact lenses beforehand.

You'll then grab a pair of complimentary earplugs to help keep the salty water out of your ears.

Once you're ready, simply step into the float tank, close the lid to your preferred position and lie back.

The water is pleasantly warm, maintained at approximately skin temperature, and contains a very high concentration of Epsom salt.

This allows your body to float effortlessly without any swimming or effort required.

4. The Float 💧

As you lie back, you'll feel the water gently support the entire weight of your body.

For the first 10 minutes, calming meditation-style music plays to help you settle into the experience. The music then fades away, leaving you to enjoy the peaceful environment.

You're always in complete control of your float. You can turn the tank light on or off whenever you like, and the lid can remain fully closed, partially open or completely open. There's no lock on the lid, and it's easy to operate from inside the tank.

If you choose complete darkness and silence, the experience can be pretty incredible. With minimal external stimulation, you're free to simply rest, unwind and enjoy the unusual sensation of weightlessness.

Some people meditate, some let their minds wander, and others drift off to sleep.

There's no right or wrong way to float.

This is your time, with absolutely nothing expected of you.

5. After your float ✨

As your session draws to a close, the music gently returns to let you know your time is almost up.

If you've fallen asleep, the music will help bring you round.

You'll then step out of the tank and take another shower to rinse away the salt water.

A fresh towel will be waiting for you, warming on the radiator.

We also provide a selection of body lotions, hand creams and body oils for you to enjoy afterwards.

Many customers comment on how lovely and soft their skin feels after floating, especially after applying some moisturiser.

6. Enjoy the post-float glow ☕️

There's no need to rush off once your float is finished.

Take some time to relax in our cosy cabin, help yourself to a hot or cold drink, use the hairdryer if needed and enjoy that wonderful post-float feeling.

Fresh filtered drinking water is available to help you stay hydrated.

If you've booked two floats, you can take turns while the other person relaxes in the cabin. You're also welcome to bring someone along who isn't floating, just to enjoy the space.

When you're ready to leave, take one last look over the beautiful Oughtibridge valley before heading home, hopefully feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready to take on the rest of your day.

You'll also receive some post-float advice and a follow-up email, with an opportunity to share your feedback.
